Arrive > Delhi Tuesday 24 October 2017

Arriving at Delhi International Airport you will be met by our Airport Representative and transferred to hotel.
Delhi is India’s capital and the gateway to the country. It’s a bustling metropolis, which successfully combines the ancient with the modern. Beneath spiralling skyscrapers remnants of a bygone era are silent reminders of the city’s ancient past.

Delhi Wednesday 25 October 2017

Morning / Old Delhi – The day begins with a visit to Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. We then drive past Red Fort. You’ll visit Jama Masjid, which still remains one of the greatest constructions of Islam. After this we take a walk through the narrow busy lanes Chandni Chowk, popularly called ‘The Silver Street’. You can opt for a rickshaw ride too!
Afternoon / Delhi – We visit Humayun’s Tomb – a precursor to the Taj Mahal. You’ll get to visit Qutab Minar - Delhi’s Eiffel Tower, Raisina Hill - the most colonial part of Delhi before driving past Viceroy’s House and Lutyen’s magnum opus; the India Gate – a WW1 Memorial dedicated to 70,000 fallen Indian and British soldiers.

Delhi > Mandawa Thursday 26 October 2017

After breakfast, we’ll head to Mandawa, in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, known as India’s ‘open art gallery’ (approx 6 hours’ drive). Upon arrival, we check in at Castle Mandawa. Rest of the day is at your leisure to explore Mandawa and its mansions.
This region’s magnificent mansions display a unique architectural style that evolve around the courtyards. The mansions have beautiful fresco wall paintings whose vibrant colours and exquisite details cover wall space.

Mandawa > Nagaur Friday 27 October 2017

After breakfast we’ll drive to Nagaur, a 4-5 hour drive away. Upon arrival and after checking in to your heritage hotel Ranvas we’ll proceed to the Ahhichatragarh Fort, where you’ll be able to take a walk through the fort and explore the ramparts. Or, you can choose to enjoy a guided tour of the restored buildings.

Nagaur > Pushkar Saturday 28 October 2017

Following breakfast we’ll proceed to Pushkar, approx 3 hours’ drive from Nagaur. Pushkar is the highlight of the tour. Pushkar is famous for its temples especially its Brahma Temple. Pushkar attracts devotees from all over the world who come here to take a dip in the holy waters of the Pushkar Lake. But by far the greatest attraction of Pushkar is its annual cattle fair, which is a spectacle to behold.

It is one of the world’s largest cattle fairs where camels & horses are bought and sold just like in the olden days. After check in we’ll then proceed to the Camel Fair ground for day one of the fair.

Pushkar Sunday 29 October 2017

After breakfast, we’ll depart for day 2 of the fair. Then, in the afternoon, you’ll get to explore the city. You might like to visit the Pushkar Lake or the Brahma Temple, a one-of-a-kind temple in India today.

Pushkar > Jaipur Monday 30 October 2017

Following breakfast we’ll drive to Jaipur, approx 3 hours’ drive away. We check in on arrival. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
Jaipur is situated in a desert state surrounded by rugged hills, each crowned by a formidable fort. Its beautiful palaces, forts, mansions, gardens and monuments dotted throughout its precincts are reminiscent of yesteryear’s royalty.
Dine with Locals: In the evening we’ll drive into the city for a special culinary session, an introduction to common Indian spices and herbs, and a meal with a local family. After a short introduction, you’ll be able to chat freely about a diverse range of topics ranging from history, craft and culture of the city of Jaipur from people who know it from the inside out.
Approx Timing: 2 hours, 30 minutes sometime from 4pm onwards.

Jaipur Tuesday 31 October 2017

After an early breakfast, we’ll visit Amber Fort, where Maharaja Mansingh, Mughal Emperor Akbar’s most successful general, started construction back in the 17th century. This honey-coloured fortress palace in the Aravalli Hills, has been described as the sleeping beauty of Rajasthan.
Afternoon, take a city tour of Jaipur. Drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), an elaborate building encrusted with delicate honeycomb screens and carved balconies from which the royal ladies could view the world outside. Later we visit the Jai Singh’s Observatory and the City Palace, a part of which is now a museum that contains fine Rajput and Moghul paintings, armory and other artefacts.

Jaipur > Ranthambore Wednesday 1 November 2017

After an early breakfast we leave for Ranthambore (4-hour drive). The Ranthambore National Park was once the scene of royal hunting parties. Today, it is famous for its tigers and is one of the best places in the country to see these majestic predators in the wild. The park is also home to many other exotic animals including leopards, wild boar, striped hyena, sloth bear, rhesus macaque monkeys and chital deer.
We check in and after lunch proceed for a game drive at the Ranthambore National Park.

Ranthambore Thursday 2 November 2017

Following on from the previous day’s program at the Ranthambore National Park, we have a game drive in the morning and another one in the afternoon.

Ranthambore > Agra Friday 3 November 2017

After breakfast, we’ll depart for Agra, an approx 6-hour drive away. En-route we’ll visit Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted red sandstone city. Due to scarcity of water it was abandoned soon after it was built because of which it still looks new even 300 years on. Thereafter we will continue on to Agra.

World famous for the Taj Mahal, Agra in the 16th & 17th century was the capital of the grand Mughal Empire. At the time the city was a leading centre of art, science, commerce and culture.

Agra Saturday 4 November 2017

At sunrise we’ll visit one of the highlights of the tour - the world-famous and majestic Taj Mahal. Described as a lover’s teardrop on the cheeks of time it’s a sight to behold.
After breakfast we will visit the Agra Fort and the city. At the impressive fort you’ll be taken through the chambers of this royal residence and as you drive through the city you’ll witness the local life and bazaars amidst the hustle bustle of everyday India.
Rest of the day is at leisure.
Evening we proceed for the heritage Kachhpura Walk. This Heritage Trail brings some amazing behind the scenes of life and times throbbing in the shadows of the Taj Mahal. This is a community based enterprise where a youth from the local community will show you round. Whatever we charge for this trail goes directly to funding various welfare works such as upgrading schools, building toilets etc. in the area and in creating sustainable livelihoods.

Agra > Delhi Sunday 5 November 2017

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll depart for Delhi, which is approximately a 3-4 hour drive. Upon our arrival, you’ll check in to your hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure.

Delhi Monday 6 November 2017

After a light breakfast at the hotel we’ll proceed for an organised walk showcasing Delhi cuisine. You’ll be introduced to local culinary purveyors, chefs and food artisans as you walk through the Lanes of Delhi, exploring its rich heritage and multi-cuisine culture that Delhi is so well known for. And of course, you’ll also get to taste plenty of fine foods.
After the walk we’ll return to the hotel with the rest of the day to spend at your leisure.
Evening, we get together for a grand farewell dinner.
